2022 Open Houses

Ohio Open Doors, September 9-18, was an exciting statewide event where building and landmark owners and operators opened their doors to the public for special tours and programs. This was an opportunity to celebrate Ohio’s architecture and history at a free Open Doors event near you! Ohio Open Doors is sponsored by the Ohio History Connection, and our Society was partnered with the Delhi Historical Society so visitors could visit two sites in one day, Monday, September 12, 2022.

Price Hill Historical Society and Museum

On September 12, 2022, from 5 to 6:30 pm, visitors viewed a new exhibit of The Price Hill Incline, Cincinnati and Price Hill Transportation, and Price Hill History through photographs and memorabilia. Entire museum (2 floors) were open. You were able to conveniently park in the Price Hill Kroger lot across the street.

Delhi Historical Society

The Delhi Historical Society sponsored

r the program, “Winemaking in the Westside During the Catawba Craze," from 7 to 9 pm on September 12, 2022. The lodge is just a short drive from the Price Hill Historical Society  & Museum on Warsaw Avenue.

Held at the historic Delhi Park Lodge at 5125 Foley Rd. The program was led by historian and author, Dann Woellert, who has earned the title, “Food Etymologist.” Woellert’s latest book, “Cincinnati Wines, an Effervescent History,” relates the amazing story of Cincinnati’s rise in the mid-19th Century’s winemaking industry in the mid-19th Century. A guided tasting of wines followed the presentation. Free and open to the public, this program introduced Cincinnati’s heritage of winemaking to a new generation of Ohioans.
